WORK EXPERIENCE:

I have worked professionally as a graphic designer since 1998, in full-time employment till mid 2005 and have been freelancing and running my own design company since then.

OWN DESIGN COMPANY (2009-current)
Since relocating back to South Africa, I have continued running my own business and have a few regular clients in the IT, financial and other industries. I offer print, online and mutlimedia services and since completing the 3d animation course in Prague, I am looking to gain more experience in the 3d industry and continue to merge these skills with 2d and web applications.

FREELANCE & WORLD TRAVEL (2006-2008)
I have been travelling with my laptop in the UK, South Africa, SE Asia, Australia & New Zealand doing freelance design work for various clients in these countries since 2006.

SANCTUARY RECORDS, LONDON (2002-2005)
I worked here full-time in the design department in London for 3.5 years,designing cd & dvd covers, advertising materials, catalogues, logos etc. After leaving Sanctuary I freelanced in London full time for 6 months before leaving for travelling round the world.

FREELANCE IN LONDON (2000-2001)
On arrival in London I joined with various design employments agencieswho placed me at differnt companies for temporary contracts:

• Healey & Baker (Architects: designed advertising material)
• Witherbys (Printers: various print design projects)
• Government Agencies: (Typesetting legislation & text heavy documents)
• Hammerprint (inhouse design agency for the local Council)
• Newspapers: (Typesetting ads for various newspapers)
• Alpha Retail: (Point of sale design & marketing for airports)

TROJAN PRINTERS, SOUTH AFRICA (1998-2000)
I worked at this small design studio / print company for 2 years, managing the studio when the manager was away & working on various print design projects like calender design, advertising, menu design, corporate identities, brochures etc. I also designed a line of creative stationery.

SPLASH DESIGN, SOUTH AFRICA (1996-1998)
Did part time work here initially for a few months while studying, then became full-time employed for over 2 years, designing a range of printed materials, also working on the design and building of exhibition stands & functions involving decorations and menu design for some clients.

CLEARWATER PRODUCTIONS, SOUTH AFRICA (1995)
Worked part time while studying at this video / tv production company, who's biggest client was M-net, designing concepts for video clips, designing logos, creating still framesin photoshop and anticipating how they would be animated, aswell as design and layout of brochures.
